This is how much Soren cost. I took this picture so he never forgets (and yes, we paid in cash, as you still do with any purchase in Japan). A 10,000 yen bill is worth about $100, for reference.

Both mom and Soren are tuckered out here...

This is Soren's "bath face." He really enjoys the bath. It must remind him of the womb.

Here is Soren in his nursery set-up.

Soren has a sleeper with a picture of a Japanese bullet train (or shinkansen) on it. He especially enjoys sleeping in this one.

Soren's car seat (for the next two months, at least). He doesn't seem to mind being strapped in at all (yet).

Sometimes he covers his face with his arm when he sleeps.

Here Soren is in a fencing pose, a residual newborn reflex.

This is a kitty blanket that our friend Jackie, who is taking care of our cats, gave us.

This is how Soren decks out to leave the house.

The art teacher at Wolf Point High School, Toni, tie-dyed a set of clothing for Soren.

Sitting in a basket and looking at a window (the only thing he loves more than mommy and daddy)...

Sometimes Soren gives the pouty lip.

This cow suit is his favorite "going out" outfit (well, it's our favorite, at least).

He seems rather proud of the fact he was "made in Japan"...

"Sakura," or cherry blossoms, are extremely popular in Japan. Every year for two weeks in the spring, the Sakura blossom and everyone goes to the park to sit under the blossoms and enjoy the first days of spring. It's very beautiful, but sadly all too short. This is Soren's first "hanami," or flower-watching (the name of the event previously described).
